On Sunday, April 19, 2026, Mt. Bachelor bid farewell to its 2025/2026 season. With record-low snow levels and unusually high temperatures, it was a season to remember. However, in the last few days of the season, Mt. Bachelor got a nice surprise from Mother Nature.
On Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16. Mt. Bachelor received over 2 feet of snow in 48 hours – and it wasn’t wet sticky snow, it was deep pow! This came after over a week of sunny 60-degree weather, rain and sticky snow conditions. Central Oregonians were stoked to be able to squeeze in a few more powder days after the season failed to deliver consistent snowfall. Mt. Bachelor was also able to open the infamous Summit lift on Friday, April 17; the line was a mile long, but it was worth the fresh turns coming off of the top.
Mt. Bachelor had its closing day almost a month earlier than last year, which was May 25. The resort celebrated the closing weekend with its Rendezvan festival, with live music and skiing from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Unfortunately there was no pond skim event this year because there was not enough of a base to dig out the “pond.” At the end of their season last year, Mt. Bachelor had a base of 60 inches; this year they ended with almost half of that at just 31 inches.
Closing day was full of good vibes all around the resort, with people wearing fun costumes, sending jumps and features in the park, ripping groomed runs, tailgating in the parking lot, and just enjoying the last day at the mountain. Mt. Bachelor will now shift its focus to its summer operations, which are slated to start around mid-June, when staff can get their bike park and ziplining up and running.
It’s safe to say that this ski and snowboarding season will go down as nothing short of memorable and unforgettable all over the country. Keep doing your snow dances over the summer – bring on the snow for 2026/2027!
