Deschutes Public Library Presents “Know Revolution – Songs of Revolution and Protest”

    Biggers and Cornelius performing

On Saturday, Nov 25, the Deschutes Public Library hosted Central Oregon local musicians, Mike Biggers and Jim Cornelius as a part of their “Know Revolutions” residency. Every month the library chooses a theme that is based on educational events. As a nod to the anniversary of the Russian October Revolution in 1917, the library chose revolutions as their theme. The Supervisor of the event, Liz Goodrich, invited Biggers and Cornelius to perform songs from several revolutions throughout history. The band came up with “Songs of Revolution and Protest” from the American Revolution against the British in the 1700s to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. The two performers sang their hearts out and played guitar for a wide audience.
