Students, faculty and staff all dressed up as their favorite Pixar and Disney characters in support of Team Landon on May 17.

Team Landon is a non-profit outreach campaign started by ASCOCC in order to raise funds for the three-year-old nephew of Campus Public Safety Officer Chris March suffering from leukemia hosted the event, “Pixar and Paw Prints”, in the Campus Center on May 17. The movie Cars, Landon’s favorite movie, was showed, as well as other entertainment including food, games, and activities.

Landon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2013. Him and his mother currently reside in Central Oregon, but are required to make a trip to Portland bi-monthly for Landon’s chemotherapy treatments.

“He’s tougher than me … By far,” said Chris March, uncle to Landon and Central Oregon Community College campus security officer. “Once he gets through this, nothing is going to stop him.”

According to March, Landon has his ups and downs, but their family has their eye on the light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a treatment completion date of December 29, 2016.

“The support from the staff, students, and college is great and knowing people care about somebody else’s situation. We are very grateful,” March said.

All the proceeds from the Pixar and Paw Prints Event went to Team Landon and his family, as well as leukemia research. Donations are still welcome.
