OSU art show opens at Barber library
Oregon State University-Cascades bachelor of fine arts students will host an opening reception for the public starting at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12.
The students’ paintings and drawings will be on display through June 13 at Central Oregon Community College’s Rotunda Gallery in the Barber Library. Graduating students are Sarah Geurts, Lynne Magnuson, Roslyn Riley, Britanny Zendejas and Breanne Uriz.
College fair for career and technical education at Mazama Field
Central Oregon Community College is presenting a college fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at the Mazama Field on the COCC Bend campus. The fair will offer information, exhibits and demonstrations featuring the college’s one- and two-year career and technical programs, such as aviation, criminal justice, fire science, forestry, massage therapy and dental assisting.
Demonstrations and campus tours offered at 11 a.m. noon and 1 p.m. Free refreshments and prizes are also included.
COCC’s Latino Club hosts a Cinco de Mayo celebration in Campus Center
The public is invited to attend a Cinco de Mayo celebration from 6 to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, in the Campus Center on Central Oregon Community College’s Bend Campus.
The event will feature traditional Mexican food, folklore dancing, live music and games. The suggested donation is $5. All proceeds go to a scholarship fund to help COCC Latino program students.
ASCOCC positions for 2011-12
There are three paid ASCOCC council positions open for 2011-2012 school year. The compensation is $750 per month.
The council is responsible for allocating student fees, appointing students to campus governing committees, advocationg for the entire student body and providing diverse social and educational programs and services.
