Dray Aguirre has officially won the Associated Students of Central Oregon Community College (ASCOCC) Presidential election. Aguirre, a nursing student, will begin his term on July 1.
During his campaign, Aguirre spoke of his desire to help all students succeed. On the ASCOCC candidate website, Aguirre wrote that he wanted to make resources more widely available and help students learn about the clubs on campus.
When his term begins, Aguirre will serve as the Chief Executive Officer and chair of council meetings. According to the elected council packet, he will also initiate budget planning and establish goals for ASCOCC, among other things.
Aguirre was one of three students to run for ASCOCC President. The other two students who ran were Dilynn Campbell and Jeff Bowen.
This is a developing story. The Broadside will post additional details early next week.
