Discovery Park, established in 2015, is one of Bend’s newer additions to it’s ever increasing list of parks, and after a sudden snowfall, it’s as busy as ever.
The lake in the middle of the park is beautifully frozen over, providing a glorious reflection of the houses on the ridgeline overlooking the park. The numerous paths around the lake see a steady stream of foot traffic as local residents go for leisurely strolls. And the larger hill accompanying the lake is home to quite a few sledding tracks that have been created over the last few days.
The Discovery Park Off-Leash area is also seeing it’s fair share of action, with dogs of all breeds and sizes gleefully running around in the fresh snow. It’s delightful to see so much playful energy in one spot, and there’s an amazing amount of diversity and character in these adorable animals.
