The 2013 Bend Winterfest may be most remembered for the spring-like temperatures that presented a challenge for ice carvers and snow riders. But the lack of snow, cold weather and winter-like atmosphere didn’t stop Central Oregonians from showing up in style Saturday morning to raise money for charity at the Polar Plunge.
Participants stuck around to try their hand at blacksmithing and groove to live music provided by the Tony Furtado Band, Led Zeppelin tribute band Stairway Denied and Seattle’s Hell’s Belles. The 14th annual Winterfest, held in Bend’s Old Mill District, kicked off on Thursday and featured exhibits and activities for the entire family throughout the weekend.
