At the start of this visceral crime horror starring Cary Elwes and Leigh Whannell, two men wake up in a dirty bathroom chained to pipes. They soon learn they are to be the next victims of the Jigsaw Killer, a psychotic genius who forces his victims to kill each other through “games.” This cringe-worthy film should only be watched by those with strong stomachs.
The Monster Movie
3. Alien (1979)
In the future, investigation onboard a derelict spaceship leads to the discovery of a deadly parasite. The investigators, which came in response to a distress signal, find that the last inhabitants were actually trying to warn them to stay away. The Suspense Thriller
4. Se7en (1995)
While investigating a string of murders, two detectives find that the killer is following a theme: the Seven Deadly Sins. While the hunt for the killer intensifies, it begins to hit closer to home for one of the detectives and when the killer actually turns himself in, everything begins to unravel. Four words: what’s in the box?
The Survival Horror flick
5. The Descent (2006)
“The Descent” is regarded as one of the best survival horror films. Most of the film takes place inside a vacuous, uncharted cave, which is being explored by a group of thrill-seeking women. You’ll find your muscles tensing as the characters must escape collapsing tunnels and swing across rocky pits to avoid falling to their deaths. If that wasn’t suspenseful enough, the heroines soon become the prey of the bat-like monsters that dwell within the cave.
