The staff of The Broadside would like to make it clear that we are glad that the bond measure passed. It confirmed the
support of COCC from a community that recognizes the importance of education for all of Central Oregon. The growth of
COCC and the support from the bond measure is something to be proud of.
With that said, the use of public money comes a responsibility to do what is right according to the law. If the law isn’t clear, it is up to those in public office to be cautious. We urge the COCC administration to reevaluate their role in the 2009 bond measure campaign. If there was wrong doing, we have faith that our college will set things right.
