On Nov. 17, 2024 around 6 p.m., snowflakes began to fall at the Bend COCC campus. Within an hour, over an inch of snow had accumulated and the campus was covered in a blanket of white. Students from Wickiup Hall ventured outside to take in the first snowfall of the year. Some having snowball fights, others trying to catch snowflakes in their mouths.
Two students shared their thoughts about the first November snow. “In one of my other classes there was a girl who was from Texas who had never seen snow before, it was really cool to see her reaction to it!” said Andraya McNary. “I am from Michigan so seeing the snow made me feel like I was at home. It also made me excited for ski season!” said Parker Price
Even though there are many more snow days to come, the first snow day is always the best because of the excitement that winter has officially arrived.
