Four students from Central Oregon Community College were recently selected to represent the college for Oregon Community College Association’s 2020 All-Oregon Academic Team.  According to COCC’s webpage, the students must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA and have completed 54 credits.  Additionally, each student is nominated by a faculty member.  The students representing COCC this year are Amy Bachman, 45, Erik Kersenbrock, 29, Janae Radke, 34, and Markie Egger, 21.

Bachman is studying automotive technology at COCC and is earning a Master Automotive Technician certification and an Associate of Applied Science degree.  Kersenbrock is an engineering student who plans to attend Oregon State University this fall.  Radke is a nursing student who wants to make a career as an emergency department RN and nurse practitioner.  Egger plans to earn her bachelor’s degree in energy systems engineering from Oregon State University-Cascades, and was previously her high school’s valedictorian.

The program hosts 38 states and their Academic Team programs, originally founded in 1994 in Mississippi and Missouri state.  Focusing on two-year colleges, this event awards approximately $37 million in scholarships to community college students all over the nation.
