Last Thursday night, voting ended on the ASCOCC constitution with 79.4 percent of voters approving the new document. Only 20.6 percent of students voted against the constitution. The election was conducted on blackboard from Monday April 12 until Thursday April 15.

A total of 614 voted in the election out of 6,269 eligible student voters. The election was marked by a large campaign conducted by student government urging students to vote ‘yes’ on the new constitution.

The constitution will now be the document used by ASCOCC to govern the student body and allocate studentbody fee money. Members of student government devoted many hours to researching and writing the constitution.
