A dessert that is ready when you are. It doesn’t get any easier!
Makes 24 Chocolate covered banana slices
Total cost: About $2.20 total. $.10 per banana slice.
Ingredients:
2 Bananas sliced and frozen ($.60)
6 Ounces Chocolate Chips ($.75)
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil ($.10)
1 pinch Sea Salt
1/8 cup Sliced Almonds (toasted or raw) ($.75)
Instructions
Gather and prep ingredients. You should be able to get about a dozen slices from each banana.
Place bananas on a lined baking sheet and put them in the freezer while prepping chocolate and other ingredients.
Slowly melt the chocolate in a saucepan over low heat. Once melted and smooth, remove from heat and mix in the coconut oil and a pinch of sea salt. The mixture should loosen up and become a bit runnier.
Remove bananas from the freezer and slowly spoon the chocolate mixture over the bananas.
Top with sliced almonds or any other toppings and return to the freezer.
Bananas are ready to eat when the chocolate shell has hardened. Store bananas in the freezer in an airtight container.
Enjoy!
Notes:
Chocolate-covered banana slices are great for a quick dessert but if you can be patient these taste best when left at room temp for about 5 minutes.
