Two legendary hip hop artists, Ice Cube and Del the Funky Homnosapien, hit the Domino Room this month and next.

First up, Feb. 12 is Del The Funky Homosapien live and in concert with Bukue One, and Serendipity Project.

This easily promises to be one of the best hip-hop shows to hit the city in the past two years.

Del broke onto the scene in the early 90s with his debut album I Wish My Brother George Was Here. Cult classics like “Mistadobalina,” “Sleepin on my Couch,” and “Dr Bombay” added to the new consciousness that the Pharcyde introduced to west coast rap just a few years earlier.

Del was signed to a major label who also utilized his relationship to Ice Cube—they are cousins—to help propel him into the spotlight. For those who don’t know, Ice Cube is a pioneer of Gangsta’ Rap and was a member of N.W.A. back in the 80s.

The debut offered a refreshingly whimsical look at the life of this self admitted weed-head, not mired in the same gangsta-mentality that made his cousin infamous.

His follow-up CD, No Need for Alarm, was his last major label release but he followed that up with seven more projects that have kept his following alive and engaged for almost 20 years.

He also has a “Best of” and two other projects that he calls Del’s Leak Pack #1 & #2.

You may not think you know him but if you have followed hip-hop you have heard him or heard his impact on the game. Del has many aliases and several artists that came from his camp, The Hieroglyphics.

He has created and sustained a loyal following of hip-hop minions and I guarantee If you love hip-hop you should definitely join me for this show.

If underground hip hop is not your thing, then hold on.

On March 27, Ice Cube also hits Bend. That’s right, Ice Cube will be at the Domino Room in March.
West Coast Rap Royalty takes time out of his busy schedule to grace our little hamlet with a performance that wont soon be forgotten.

Hip-Hop fans rejoice. We have not been forgotten.

Make sure you get out and show your support if you want to see more concerts like these brought to town.
