It has recently been announced that there are 47 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Oregon. As of Monday April 19, there are a total of 1,956 cases of COVID-19 in Oregon. 75 Oregon residents have lost their lives to the virus. It is extremely important that all citizens follow the newly established rules to the best of their ability in order to keep this disease contained. The new cases are mainly centralized in Clackamas county, Marion county, Multnomah county, and Washington county.

In Central Oregon, out of 1,623 total, 70 tests came back positive for the COVID-19 virus. The patients range from under 29 to 70 and older. Out of those 70 confirmed cases, only 29 have required hospitalization. There have been no deaths in Deschutes County. For those who feel sick or have questions concerning the virus, there is a COVID-19 hotline for Central Oregon residents. The number is 541-699-5109 and is available Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 6:30 PM.

The pandemic affects everyone. Remembering to stay inside and taking time to potentially explore fun indoor crafts is key to keeping this pandemic under control. It should be the top priority to save lives and stay healthy during this time, and this can be done by simply staying home.
