Part of the college experience is to be part of your college community. Being a part of clubs, sports and fraternities are some ways to have an active college life. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Central Oregon Community College students cannot experience being part of the college’s community to the fullest. However, that does not mean that COCC isn’t trying to help students experience a little bit of college life.

On Sept. 30 and Oct. 6, Marcus LeGrand, COCC’s Pathways College and Career Success Coach, will host the college’s first-ever virtual student resource fair. During the COCC virtual resource fair, Bobcat students will hear from:

  • Career Services, Academic Advising, and Personal Counseling (CAP Services)
  •  Clubs and Intramurals
  • Disabilities Services
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  •  eLearning
  • Latinx Student Program
  • Library Services
  •  Native American Student Program
  • Pathways
  • Student Life
  • The Broadside

LeGrand wrote in an email to The Broadside that the student resource fair is a way for students to connect with the various resources that Central Oregon Community College has on campus.

“The Virtual Student Resource Fair will allow students to connect with the various resources on our campus, said LeGrand in the email. “In short, many students can put a name with a face. ”

LeGrand also expressed how he hopes that this event will get staff and COCC faculty to help assist students who may be struggling.

“(the Virtual Student Resource fair) will give the Faculty and Staff an opportunity to assist students who are in their classes, which will invoke meaningful conversation on what we can build here at COCC.”

All Bobcat students are welcome to come to the event. All those who attend will automatically enter to win one of four 10 dollar gift cards to Looney Bean Coffee Roasting Company.

If you want a chance to try and be part of college life, send an email to [email protected], and he will provide COCC students with a Zoom link and password.
