The Live Action Society club at Central Oregon Community College is looking for new members to participate in Nerf and laser tagging games.  The sole purpose of the club is to bring these fun activities to students looking to get involved.

There are multiple definitions of Nerf and laser tag.  The Live Action Society club at Central Oregon Community College is a Nerf and laser tag club.  “Nerf” refers to the devices that launch foam darts such as the Nerf Blaster.  Although, there is a plethora of foam dart blasters that are Nerf-compatable such as Air Zone, Buzz Bee, and Dart Zone.

The laser tags, on the other hand, are Recoil Taggers.  These kind of laser taggers interface with the user’s smart phone and run the game.

The Live Action Society club meets every other Friday in the Coats Campus Center, room 116.  The next meeting is February 28, 2020.  Currently, the club is planning many activities.  One of the upcoming activities is called a “Spaghetti Western Tournament”.  This may sound like a food fight, but it’s far from it!  The group is split into teams, and send out one player from each team to play one-on-one.  Whichever player wins battles the next player out for the opposing team.

While the club is based on fun and creative gameplay, there are ground rules that remain in place as safety measures.  These rules include mandatory eye protection, blasters cannot be painted black, gray, or silver, and don’t be a jerk.

To get involved with COCC’s Live Action Society, visit Facebook @LiveActionSociety or email mmeyners@cocc.edu for more information.
