The Bobcats came together for one last hurrah in their final weekend of games against the University of Washington Huskies, winning two out of the three-game series.

The three-game series was played at Mountain View High School during the weekend of April 30. It was the great defense, mixed with stellar pitching performances from Bobcats Dalton Chambers and Jacob Chaney, that ultimately paved the way to victory for the Bobcats. The scores of the two victorious games were 4-2 and 8-2 respectively.

After coming from a two-loss double header to the University of Oregon Ducks on April 23 and 24, the final games of the season could not have come at a better time for the Bobcats. The season was not what the Bobcats expected. The team struggled with finding the groove of things on the field, and an unfortunate injury to key player, Tim Drafel, gave the bobcats some difficulty this season. The team finished with a 4-10 record.

“We had a great group of guys this season. The win-loss tally wasn’t up to our expectations, and it definitely didn’t represent the level of talent we had,” said Matthew Greenleaf, head coach of the Bobcats.

Even with the adversities that were thrown their way, the Bobcats managed to finish the season with their heads held high, and they are looking forward to the upcoming season.

“I’m really proud of the team. Things didn’t go as planned, but they stuck together, played together, and had a fun time doing it … We showed great versatility, players stepped up, pitchers started throwing strikes. I just really admired our ability to stay together this season,” Greenleaf said.
