Campus council is currently hiring for two positions. The Associated Students of Central Oregon Community College is hiring for both the ASCOCC director of public relations position as well as the ASCOCC director of student clubs and organizations.

In September 2014, Amber Ruedi, the then vice president of Associated Students of Central Oregon Community College affairs announced her resignation from the council. Around the same time, Shanelle Allen, then ASCOCC treasurer also resigned leaving the council two members short of a full executive office.

After Ruedi’s resignation, then ASCOCC director of public relations, Todd Munroe applied for the vice president of ASCOCC affairs position. At the end of fall term, the appointment committee, composed of Zelda Ziegler, Evelia Sandoval and two council members, announced Munroe as the new VP of ASCOCC affairs. Munroe’s previous positions, ASCOCC director of public relations has been posted for the general student population.

Director of student clubs and organizations

Ashley Poe, who began as ASCOCC director of student clubs and organizations at the beginning of summer 2014, announced her resignation from the council effective Jan. 1, 2015.

“[Poe] is one of those committed students who gives 100 percent to what she does,” said Taran Smith, ASCOCC advisor. “She likely did more in six months than some students do in a year in similar positions.”

Poe’s positions will first be opened up to internal applicants. Three students reported directly to Poe so the position will be opened to them as well as any other current ASCOCC members. If those groups aren’t interested it will be opened to external applicants, according to Smith.
